Let's get acquainted.
Hello my name is Becca Grogan and I am an artist gone graphic designer gone activist. In the spring of 2015, I completed my BFA in Visual Communication Design at Virginia Tech and I spend my days on the hunt for my next great adventure. My passion lies in creating, but from the perspective of an environmentalist, a dreamer, an adventurer.
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” – Dr. Seuss
I create all kinds of work. If I can mold it, shape it, mark it, paint it, or fold it, I’ve probably experimented with the material. This curiosity stems from my desire to learn new techniques and new media whenever possible. Art and design is not limited to paper and computers; it would be quite boring to me if such were the case. I create work the same way I would grow a flower from a seed or build a table from planks of wood. Research. Imagination. Planning. Action. Design and a creative mind exist equally within all of these activities; it is simply the medium that has been altered.
